MAROON5 |
You
may have first heard the L.A rockers
debut single a year ago when "Harder
to Breathe" blew up on
worldwide radio, it's so good that
it's still getting played to death
as it's soul rock style is so infectiously
catchy! Previously known as 'Kara's
Flowers' (not the best of names in
the world!) the lads have recently
supported the likes of Sheryl Crow,
The Counting Crows, Train and Jon Mayer.
Now back on the road playing their
own gigs all over the states during
the summer, they will be back on our
shores in October.
The album "Songs
About Jane" from which the hit's "Harder
to Breathe" and "This
Love" come from, has sold over a million copies
and was produced by Matt Wallace of Faith No More & Replacements.

COUNTERMINE
|
Countermine -
This five piece from Bath have spent
the Summer of 2004 performing in front
of over 200,000 rock music fans at shows
including The Isle of Wight Festival
with David
Bowie and The
Who, in Bonn and Benidorm
with The Corrs, in English stately homes
with Blondie and Simple
Minds and at T on the
Fringe with The Charlatans to get themselves
ready….really ready……to take their
music to the masses.
In their early twenties, these boys have the background of
seasoned professionals and have created an album that stands
along side the likes of Snow Patrol, The
Stereophonics, Keane, Jet and Coldplay.
Countermine have followed the tried and tested method of developing
a compelling live show: performing, performing and more performing.
They have created their own live club called Roc Chic which
tours with other bands as a self contained entity, right down
to DJ support slots. No one told them how to do it, they have
just done it, and it is this sense of inevitability which marks
them down as true contenders.
As
lead
singer
and
lyricist
Oliver
Smith
explains –
‘ Live music is the key….we will play anywhere and deliver. The feeling of getting
to the audience is what it is all about and the reason we feel our songs will
have a long life of their own.’
Musical influences range from Nick Drake to Creedance Clear
Water Revival through to Led Zeppelin, John Mayall and, naturally,
the Beatles.
