Formed in Paris, Black Strobe's Burn Your Own Church is labour of love ten years in the making. An eclectic mix of dance, Norwegian death metal (who does death metal better than the Scandinavians? No one), country, RocknRoll and Blues; Black Strobe just say they want to scare people (and their cover of Bo Diddley's I'm A Man is particularly terrifying). For those who like their music heavy, give Black Strobe a spin.

Have we mentioned Voxtrot yet? We've probably been too busy having their album on repeat to actually tell you about it - sorry about that. We've seen it in the Wippit charts lately, but for those who haven't got it yet, we can't recommend this album highly enough. Ironically, the best place to start is with the last track on the album (although the first single) Blood Red Blood. It's a beautiful Texan take on Britpop, with strings, horns and everything, that can't fail to get you moving. Lovely.
Does Mick Hucknall ever give up? Stay, their tenth album, was released on the band's own label and amazingly hit number 4 in the charts. Featuring the hit single So Not Over You we think it's a great return to form. Trivia fact: Nick here at Wippit's Mum fancies Mick Hucknell.
