Are you getting it?

Well, are you? Are you getting what other Wippit Subscribers have been dipping into this week? Ronnie Wood, Gary Numan, Bow Wow Wow, The Dubliners and The Cult have all been denting the Wippit Subs Chart over the last couple of weeks. So, the question is, are getting it? Well, are you?

If you heard our last Wippit podcast you'll know that we think the Scandinavians are second to none at creating great tunes. Swedes Mixtapes and Cellmates are no exception and they've created an album that seems to fuse their dreamlike emo-tronica with an indietastic shoegazing revival. But enough with the nonsensical pigeon-holing: if you like the sound of boy/girl vocals, indie tunesmiths armed with drum machines (with plenty of hypnotic rhythms), and quite simply gorgeous melodies (or you're simply just tired of waiting for the new Postal Service album) then this is an album to download now and cherish.

For such a provocative song (have you seen the video?), it's surprising how it came about. Whilst looking for tips for how to put shelves on YouTube (welcome to the 21st century), Uniting Nations bloke Daz found Gloria Gaynor performing the classic 'Do It Yourself' and the rest is history.

We don't need to remind you about Never Mind The Hotpots - it's been one a Wippit Subscribers favourites since it was released earlier this year. But now, on the back of the success of their world domination they've captured a timeless live performance for your listening pleasure in Live At The Citadel. Featuring all your favourites like Me PSP, I Met A Girl On Myspace and hit single He's Turned Emo. It's also packed with live banter (they really do talk like that) and a brand new track Keys Wallet Phone. In fact, if you're from round those parts they're back at the Citadel on 1st December; if you go let us know what you thought.
