Nizlopi

Nizlopi - ExtraOrdinary
Friends who’ve been writing music together since their teens, Nizlopi's largely acoustic, fresh-folk with a dash of hip-hop (part Jack Johnson, part Turin Brakes) earned them a Number One last year with the JCB Song. Bridging the gap between 2004’s debut Half These Songs Are About You and their autumn-awaited second LP, comes mini collection ExtrOrdinary. One of the hardest working bands in folk business, their UK tour started on 3rd September.

Tom Jones - Rockin' Tom Jones
Musical chameleon Tom Jones has worked with Wyclef Jean, Stereophonics and Mousse T. The Welsh wonder hit the charts yet again in April with Stoned In Love, his pumpin’ collaboration with techno act Chicane. Easy to forget then that his career is rooted firmly in rock’n’roll. On Rockin’ Mr Jones can be heard singing covers of rock and soul classics in his unique style.

Rev-ola

Rock-Ola - A Rev-Ola Rock'n'Roll Sampler
Rock’n’roll’s birth in the mid-1950’s was the result of some rather rhythmic sauciness between blues, R&B, jump-jive and country. The Rev-Ola Rock'n'Roll Sampler brings together some of the finest music from that influential period, a giddy time when Elvis was still eating squirrels. There’s jump-jive from Louis Jordan, swinging R&B from Mr Hi-De-Ho himself Cab Calloway, top cuts from divas Ruth Brown and LaVern Baker and a voodoo-flavoured early performance from Screaming J Hawkins. A great party soundtrack for the last of the summer.

Elvis Presley - Scotty & Bill
In 1954, Sun Records decided to team up young Memphis singer Elvis Presley with guitarist Scotty Moore and bassist Bill Black. The trio accidentally hit upon a version of the blues tune That's Alright Mama, which became Presley’s debut single. Thus rock’n’roll’s most seminal trio came to be, merging blues, country and bluegrass. Compilation Scotty & Bill deals with what many consider Presley’s most creative period. Features Blue Moon, Mystery Train and Baby Let’s Play House, alongside live tracks and interviews.

The Big Lebowski

Movie Review - The Big Lebowski - download at Wippit today.
When spliff smoking slacker Jeff 'The Dude' Lebowski is mistaken for a millionaire with the same name, thugs break into his house, pee on his rug and demand repayment of a debt he knows nothing about. The Dude goes to see his wealthy namesake and demands payment for the rug which "really tied the room together". While there, The Dude (Jeff Bridges) is enlisted to help the millionaire Lebowski to find his kidnapped wife. One of the Cohen brothers finest films it is incredibly funny, has some great bowling so it's no wonder this feel good film has a cult following.
